One of my business mentors, Marley Majcher, The Party Goddess appeared on foxbusiness.com (she is the first guest speaking) on February 20, 2013.  She is an amazing event planner to the stars.   Marley also has her book, “But Are You Making Any Money?”   In the video clip link below she speaks about pricing.  This is something that has been a challenge for me and for many small business owners.  Marley gives great information to consider for creating the right pricing structure for your business.

The Party Goddess talks "Pricing for Profit" with Fox News Live's Lauren Simonetti.

Marly also mentioned the time tracking app that she likes to use – Paymo. www.paymo.biz.  Check out this tool.  I know I will.

STAY TUNED FOR MY UP COMING BOOK

31 Ideas Book Cover 8_EP Store Product

Why this book?

You are broke.  You have little to no disposable income to contribute to the economic growth of the economy.  In fact, your wish is that someone or something would bless you with a little “something something!”   Ok, maybe that is not your situation at all.  However, you have found that there needs to be a shift in thinking when it comes to how we celebrate holidays and other “special” days.  Now, let me be clear… I am all for making a buck!  Capitalism is not inherently evil. Heck, I am an entrepreneur!  So, I want your money for the work that I do in my business.  Ok, I am on a rabbit trail…. (Reigning myself back in…)

Another reason for this book is to help foster creativity and togetherness in a “me-centric” society.  Actually doing or creating something for those you care about helps to create memories of the creative process and the gratification of a job well done as you give something from your heart and hands.

The last reason for this book… It’s just plain fun!

We are in the final edits of this book and can’t wait to share these fun activities that will be sure to make any event you plan a memorable one for years to come!

Have an amazing Friday!

Be You! Be Creative!

Elise

Happy New Year one and all!

 Image

Wow…can you believe it?  It’s 2013!  Lets see, the world didn’t undergo destruction on 12/21/12.  That’s a good thing even though there were some hard to deal with challenges that happened towards the end of the year.  The Mayan Calendar scare or misunderstanding has resulted in people looking at transition and what that transition can or will look like.

I am not the biggest fan of change when it comes to things that affect me, but this year I am open to it.  In fact, I am looking forward to working through this transition.  One thing I have already adapted into my life is a stop to the negative self-talk.  I know I am not the only one who does this.  So, I am challenging all of you who have been guilty of doing this to STOP IT!  We are more than the negative things we tell ourselves.  So, write your press release, your team cheer and find your theme song!  Every hero has a theme song….so should you!

Speaking of themes, this years Rose Parade’s theme was “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!”  based on the book by Dr. Seuss! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQRWeZy-S8Q

The floats this year were filled with lots of bright and neon colors with whimsical designs.  Although the parade was a beautiful array of sight and sound there were three high points for me.

1.) The soldier surprising his wife and 4 year old son who was on the Natural Balance Pet Foods: “Canines with Courage'” float.

2.) The wedding on the Farmer’s Insurance float.

3.) And Jesus on a float!  Yes…. I was surprised and loved it!  It’s titled “Jesus…The Way to Heaven.”

And my most favorite is watching the B2 Stealth Bomber fly over the parade route! Check it out for your self at this link (http://youtu.be/t6e4PMLVYzw). Oh that machine is so sleek! It sort of reminds me of a Sting Ray fish.  This fly over coincided with the Department of Defense Korean War Anniversary float.

So, it’s a new year with lots of opportunities ahead of us.  How will you make this year different from the last?  How will you make it great?  Share your thoughts or resolutions!  I would love to hear!

Blessings to you all and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
